What is stored on your device

Quirky has no accounts and no server-side profile. Everything about your play lives in your own browser's local storage, and it never leaves your device unless you share a result yourself.

• Game progress: today's puzzle state, past results, win streaks and per-game statistics.
• Settings: your language, light or dark theme, and whether you have hidden ad slots.
• A random anonymous ID, generated in your browser, used only to avoid counting one player as many.
• Clearing site data for quirky.gg in your browser erases all of it permanently, including your streaks.

Anonymous usage events

To learn which games people actually enjoy, the site sends a small event when you open a game and when you finish one.

• An event contains: the anonymous ID, which app you were in, the event name, the page path, a timestamp, and simple details such as whether you won and how many guesses you used.
• Events feed an aggregate visit counter, plus Mixpanel (product analytics) and Grafana Cloud (raw logs) when those are configured.
• Events never contain your name, email, photos, or anything you typed into a game.
• As with any website, our host receives the normal technical details of the request itself, including your IP address.

Photos in Glow-Up Studio

Glow-Up Studio analyses your selfie entirely inside your browser. The face model is downloaded from Google's MediaPipe CDN the first time you use it — that download is the only network request involved. Your photo is never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by us or anyone else.

Cookies

The site sets no tracking cookies of its own. A single functional cookie is set only if you ever complete a purchase, so the site can remember the unlock. If ads are enabled in future, the ad provider may set its own cookies under its policy.

That cookie is named "quirky_ads" and contains only the value 1 — nothing identifying.

Ads (when enabled)

If ads are shown on Quirky, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings · aboutads.info.
Visitors in the EEA and UK are shown a consent message before any ad cookies are set.

Children

Quirky is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13. Because there are no accounts and no personal data is collected, nothing identifying a child is ever gathered.

Your choices

• Clear site data in your browser to erase every trace of your play, including the anonymous ID.
• Ad blockers and tracking blockers are welcome — every game keeps working with them on.
• You can control ad personalisation for all sites in your Google account's ad settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including Canada under PIPEDA, the EU under GDPR, and California under CCPA), you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information, or withdraw consent. We hold no name or email for you — but if you send us the anonymous ID below, we will delete the usage events tied to it. We do not sell personal information, and clearing site data disconnects the ID from you forever.

How long data is kept

Usage events are kept only for the purposes above; raw debug logs are kept for about 14 days; daily visit counters for about 120 days. Local data on your device stays until you clear it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
